Released in 2011 by the US broadcaster HBO, 'Game of Thrones' is a fantasy television series created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. It is an adaptation of the literary saga "Song of Ice and Fire" by the American writer George R. R. Martin. The story situates us in the seven kingdoms of Westeros, where several noble families compete for the coveted Iron Throne.
This tv show has been recorded, in places of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Malta, Morocco, Spain and Croatia. It has become the most watched show in human history.
More than 60 million dollars were invested in the first season and it reached more than 100 million dollars for the seventh one. The HBO tv series has also confirmed four future spin-offs that will explore the vast universe of "Song of Ice and Fire".
The show is set in the fantastic continents of Westeros and Essos in some parallel world to ours or even as some fan theories say, such events could be happening in another planet.
The first season of the show was premiered on April 17th, 2011 in the United States, on May 8th in Latin America and on May 9th in Spain. Each season consists of 10 episodes except the seventh season that only had 7 and they have released a new season every year since the launch of the first one, the eighth season will be an exception since it will have more than a year and a half of distance from the seventh season in 2019.
It has received more than 200 awards and nominations since its launch in 2011.
The story is striking and involving, the characters are endearing and they have Middle Age’s typical problems, but they also apply in many cases to present day. It’s definitely the most impressive tv show of all time.
